  • 2mm hook

  • Stylecraft Special DK in White and Silver

  • 2 x 6mm black safety eyes

  • Light Grey felt

  • Black embroidery floss

  • Polyester toy filling

  • Pins to place pieces before sewing together

SIZE

Baymax is approximately 13.5cm tall, and 11cm in width from arm to arm, and approximately 6.5cm from front to back.Weight: 70g (this includes all materials used to make Baymax)

bldc back loop double crochet; double crochet using the back loops only

fldc front loop double crochet; double crochet using the front loops only

dec decrease; insert hook in the front loop of the next two sts, yarn over, pull through both loops, y.o. and pull through remaining two loops –> one dc placed into two sts

ASSEMBLY

Assemble in the same order the pattern is written. I would recommend using a photo of Baymax as reference for best possible outcome. Pin all the pieces in place before sewing to make sure it looks right, including the felt pieces - Once all the crocheted pieces are attached use fabric glue to attach the felt pieces.

Fasten of and leave a long end to sew the piece onto body.Stuff the arms lightly – we don’t want them to be too bulky – then pin them in place.Once you’re happy with the placement of arms and legs, sew them onto the body.

FELT

Using light grey felt cut out 2 oval pieces for the Baymax’s sides, 2 half circles for the top side of his legs, 2 circles for his elbows and 1 smaller circle for his chest. See photos for reference in shapes and placements. As always, I recommend using a photo of Baymax to ensure best possible outcome.
